There is a large internet industry where bought items can be personalized.
This is different from novelty items which are premade with popular names and purchased as is. This involves the purchase of bath towels with family initials embroidered on them, written material that is personalized before sending to the customer in the exact way he or she wants the item to be personalized.
This industry is almost indefatigable as almost anything can be personalized. T-shirts can be personalized with a team name or logo on them, gold watches or other gold items can be engraved for a special occasion.
The technology exists to include the personalization of objects like picture frames, golf tees and pillows that can have photos personalized onto their surface. The photo is sent in to the company and is embossed on the pillow’s surface.
